Give a little or a give a lot to support our local artists
During the Covid Pandemic, the Toitoi Team have been considering how to engage and support our local artistic community in the broadest sense. We are acutely aware that so many industries have been effected but the arts and our creatives need support. Now that our local and National artists are unable to travel Internationally Toitoi are looking for local support to engage local artists. Our focus is to commission artists to respond to local stories, icons, history, architecture and much more.
The Toitoi Team have partnered with The Hastings District Libraries and Hastings City Art Gallery to create a Boosted campaign called ‘Heretaunga Stories’. The aim is to raise $7,500 to support 15 local artists to develop a 15minute presentation that captures a local story, their process or the start of an idea. This will be supported by the Toitoi Team to find unique and interesting ways to present the work or encourage collaboration between art forms that have a natural synergy.
This is where we need your help. As this sits outside our core-business we are asking our community to support ‘our community’.
